Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we will look at how to get sand in large quantities.
Where to find sand?
When you unlock the Enchanted Beach , you can walk on a large stretch of sand by the ocean. As mentioned in our Caves quest guide, the bridge connecting the two parts of the Beach is blocked by large corals. Do not panic, you can still access the right part by going through the large stairs in the middle or the Bayou, and the left part by going through the path to the left of the Pilier de la Prairie Tranquille.
At the start of the game, if you need sand to craft items or complete side missions, there are two very simple ways:
- Find piles of sand directly on the ground of the Enchanted Beach (rare),
- Dig into the sand with your shovel for a chance to get some out (just like dirt in grass or clay in swamps)
Improving the pickaxe thanks to Maui
The best way to get sand will be to upgrade your pickaxe twice! To do this, you must unlock the Kingdom of Vaianna table at the castle and complete the first mission, which consists of bringing her to the Village. By returning there, you can also summon Maui who will improve your Pickaxe so that you can break the small corals on the beach: by doing this, you will get sand!
Once you have gained a few friendship levels with Maui, he will offer you another quest called "A Tale of Stone and Fire". By completing it, you will get the Level 2 Pickaxe which allows you to break large corals and get even more sand!
