Onyxia's Lair is a Raid in World of Warcraft Classic which is available from launch. It is the only 40-man, Level 60 raid with a single boss in the game. Find out more about Onyxia below.
The raid is located in the Contested Zone of Dustwallow Marsh. The entrance can be found in the south of zone, in The Wyrmbog. In order to take part in the raid, you'll need the Drakefire Amulet in your possession, which can be obtained as a quest reward from Blood of the Black Dragon Champion.
All Tier 2 Helmets will drop from Onyxia from Phase 1 onwards.
In addition, it's a good idea to for your raid to have a max level Skinner with Finkle's Skinner in their possession, as they'll be able to skin Onyxia for materials which can be used to craft the Onyxia Scale Cloak, a must have when raiding Blackwing Lair.

Strategy
Onxyia is a dragon consisting of three distinct phases: two on the ground, and one in the air. Like all other dragons, your tank should be the only one directly facing the dragon, as this will allow them to be the only ones to be hit by Cleave and Flame Breath. It's also important to ensure that no other players are located behind the boss, as they will take damage from Tail Sweep. Therefore, your raid should be positioned on the boss' flanks.
The sides of the room have eggs which will hatch a large number of Dragonlings when approached. Be sure to keep your distance from them and avoid being knocked into their midst.
Phase 1
Phase 1 serves as a preparation phase. The tank should keep Onyxia close to her base position, facing the back of the room. Once she's in position, make sure she is kept in this position to prevent the rest of the raid from being subjected to Cleave and Flame Breath damage from the front, and Tail Sweep from the back.
In addition, DPS players must pay close attention to their aggro generation and should only use auto-attacks. Onyxia will frequently use the ability Knockback. Not only does it do phyiscal damage and send the tank flying, Knockback reduces threat by 25%.
Once Onyxia reaches 65% HP, she will take off and Phase 2 will begin.
Phase 2
Onyxia will take to the skies during Phase 2. Make sure that your DoTs are constantly active on the boss while she is in the air. In addition, the eggs scattered around the room will start to hatch, leading to the room being flooded by Dragonlings which must be tanked and taken out by all melee classes.
Onyxia will shoot Fireballs at a random target periodically, dealing massive damage.
Finally, she will sometimes use Breath, which blows in a line away from the caster. In order to better understand it visually, have a look at the image below. Having Hunter's Mark active on Onyxia will help to visualise which pattern will be used based on the boss' location on the minimap.
Phase 3
At 40% HP, Onyxia lands back on the ground and targets the player with the highest active threat. The tank should do all they can to take back aggro, whilst being buffed by Fear Ward or a Tremor Totem to resist Onyxia's Bellowing Roar. In addition to having access to Phase 1 spells, jets of lava will shoot up from cracks in the ground, inflicting damage to anyone caught in the sprays.
