D-1 before the kick-off of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2. On February 19, a new video sequence appears when you start the game. As the day before, you can see the shop under encryption, then a black and gold image showing a bomb.
It's hard to tell whether it's a bomb or a torpedo. The item doesn't have the pointed end of the missile. It's more like those big bombs used by bomber planes.
The threat can also come from the oceans if we believe it's a torpedo — often propelled from a submarine. Seas and water in general constitute a major point of this Chapter 2. The submarine would be appropriate for this aquatic theme.
Oil, the umpteenth issue of Season 2?
On Fortnite's official Twitter, a slightly different version of this same image appeared. When you increase its brightness significantly, you can see what looks like an oil platform in the background.
Even more interesting: the reliefs in the corner of the image correspond to a location on Fortnite's map. According to the dataminer FireMonkey, joined on this point by his colleagues, the oil platform will probably be located west of Slurpy Swamp. Oil platforms can be fixed or floating, and are used to drill the ground to recover oil from the high seas. This building would be a significant new location for the coming season.
This isn't the first occurrence of oil in Fortnite. In Chapter 2 Season 1, leakers had got their hands on a seemingly insignificant file: Petrol ammo.
With the arrival of an oil platform, these ammunition should become active during this season 2. They didn't exist in the battle royale for the moment.
Making the link between this and the bomb is tricky... Maybe the villains are going to bomb one of the places on the map? February 19 should give us more information about the future events!
