Rise of the Elements will soon make way for Teamfight Tactics upcoming set: Galaxies. A whole bunch of new champions are coming to the Convergence — but which could we see?

What champions could we see in TFT Set 3: Galaxies?

One month ago, Lead Producer Dax Andrus and Lead Designer Stephen Mortimer teased the arrival of the next Teamfight Tactics set. Now we know the name of the Rise of the Elements successor: Galaxies!

This set introduces a core mechanic to replace the elemental hexesgalaxies — and, of course, its share of new champions and traits. While we still don't know exactly what this set will include, we already have a few hints to be able to speculate.

In ten years of creation and development, Riot have expanded the League of Legends universe by adding parallel dimensions corresponding to skin families.

With Rise of the Elements, it became clear that each of these families could potentially be used to support the creation of new Origins for one or more champions. From Runeterra to the Convergence, Riot have recycled their creations from the past to give them new uses.

They used League of Legends skins to create new iterations of champions for the previous set, and we can only expect the same logic with Galaxies.

In their Dev Video, Andrus and Mortimer dropped a few hints, and if you read between the lines you can already guess about what Riot is planning.

"It's a pretty large PROJECT, but with so many STAR champions in the League universe it's been a BLAST trying to figure out how to make SPACE for all of them, especially now that we're getting our finger on the PULSE of what makes a good set." said Stephen Mortimer, "Our hope is that you'll find the next set out of this world."

He's obviously talking about three skin families: PROJECT, Star Guardians, and Pulsefire.

In a previous article, we already speculated that the following champions could find their places in the next set:

  • PROJECT: Akali, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Camille, Ekko, Fiora, Irelia, Jhin, Jinx, Katarina, LeBlanc, Leona, Lissandra, Lucian, Master Yi, Nami, Pyke, Soraka, Vayne, Vi, Warwick, Yasuo, Zed
  • Pulsefire: Caitlyn, Ezreal, Riven, Shen, Twisted Fate
  • Star Guardians: Ahri, Ezreal, Janna, Jinx, Lulu, Lux, Miss Fortune, Neeko, Poppy, Rakan, Soraka, Syndra, Xayah, Zoe

However, since we now know its name, we can add one last speculation to the pile — the Super Galaxy skin family, starring Annie, Elise, Fizz, Gnar, Kindred, Nidalee, Rumble, Shyvana, and Vi.

With Karma and Leona, Rise of the Elements reached an impressive pool of 56 champions, and Galaxies should have roughly the same number. However, if you count the champions above, you'll notice that our speculations don't quite match that figure.

We've certainly missed something, but perhaps you didn't. Feel free to join the thinking by dropping your comment in the section below!
