Every two weeks, Fortnite players must choose to pledge allegiance to Shadow or Ghost via skins for their agents. It would appear that these community preferences have an impact on the map and the weapons to be retrieved.

Shadow or Ghost: Do our choices change Fortnite's map?

Shadow and Ghost are the two factions fighting for Fortnite's map in Chapter 2 Season 2. They're also presence in your battle pass, as for each agent skin you'll have to choose a Shadow or Ghost variant — by completing different series of challenges.

Since last week, players have noticed a change in the Grotto. As can be seen above, the skull and crossbones — symbol of Shadow Clan — is now embedded in the rock of the cliff.

According to some theories, it's very plausible that this change of scenery is directly dependent on the choices of the community. Brutus — the agent in the spotlight during the first two weeks — is also the Grotto Boss. His secret HQ was modified the day after his Briefing mission.

When the community had to choose between Shadow and Ghost for Brutus' skin variant, the majority clearly rallied to the darkest faction. This "community" choice might be the reason for this sudden allegiance among Brutus and his henchmen!

For the next few weeks, we could imagine progressive modifications of the map and its landscapes according to players' preferences. In this way, the community literally becomes active in the progression of this season's plot.

Some game experts go even further: according to them, players' allegiance to the Shadow Clan increases the amount of specific weapons on the map — heavy snipers, mini guns etc. On the other hand, a shift towards the Ghost Clan would imply a stronger presence of silenced weapons.

At the moment, TNTina is in the spotlight in the battle pass. She's guarding the Rig. Keep a close eye on this specific location as it should be modified very soon!
