The defeat against the bottom-ranked Counter Logic Gaming, on the fringes of the seventh week of competition, was hard for Team Liquid to digest. Today, the reigning LCS champion team is recalling its star Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng to the starting line-up, five days after it was benched due to a "significant drop in motivation". Replaced earlier this month by rookie Edward "Tactical" Ra— whose appearance against Team SoloMid was a big hit — Doublelift announced his comeback on his social networks in the "Monday Night League" against Immortals.
The six-time LCS champion's green-lighting period finally lasted just over a week. In the space of eight days without his figurehead in the botlane, Team Liquid recorded two encouraging victories against TSM and 100 Thieves, before being battered by a dying CLG in this Spring Split 2020.
Criticized by caster Azael or popular streamer IWillDominate for its mentality in this affair, Doublelift will again be mobilized tonight against Immortals.
