Resident Evil 3 Remake has only just been released, but leaks and rumors abound regarding the future of the series.
Capcom and M-Two, the studio which worked on the Resident Evil 3 remake, have reportedly been at work on a Resident Evil 4 remake since 2018. The Osaka studio, led by former Capcom and Platinum Games alum Tatsuya Minami, is said to be in charge of the project following Shinji Mikami rejected the chance to carry out this future remake.
Planned for 2022, Resident Evil 4 apparently has the blessing of Mikami, and he has even lent some advice to the studio.
The original Resident Evil 4 was originally released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2005, and was a revolution for the series. Critically and commercially successful, the title has seen many ports to other consoles since.
