Summer Games Fest: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 Remaster announced

The Summer Games Fest kicked off with a surprise reveal, with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 dropping out of nowhere.

However, game reveals are usually trumped by a leak — with the great man himself revealing the existence minutes before Geoff Keighley appeared to officially introduce the game.

The remaster is being handled by Vicarious Visions, who have history with the franchise in porting every main series title to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and DS. They are also known for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled remasters, so they undoubtedly have pedigree.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 will come fully updated for the current generation, including 4K resolution, original modes, online multiplayer, and extensive customisation. This includes 'Create a Perk'

Naturally, the game will also come with an absolutely banging soundtrack, something that has been a hallmark of the series. Confirmed artists include Bad Religion, Rage Against The Machine, Papa Roach, Goldfinger, and the Dead Kennedys.

Preordering the game will give you access to the iconic Warehouse level from THPS1, before the game's official release date.

Following the reveal trailer, Keighley sat down with Tony Hawk himself — on his 52nd birthday — and Vicarious Visions' Studio Head Jen Oneal to discuss the remaster more. You can watch that below.

The skateboarder himself often talks about how fans most request a THPS 1&2 remaster, and now Activision have delivered.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1&2 comes to PS4, Xbox One and the Epic Games Store on September 4, 2020.
