In one week, Valorant will officially be released. For the occasion, Riot Games will introduce a new map, a new Agent and a new game mode.
However, Rioter Chris "PWYFF" Tom said on Reddit that the competitive mode won't be available when the game is released. According to him, the mode will be deployed a few weeks after the official release of the game in order to guarantee server stability. This is reminiscent of the beta process, where it was only implemented a few weeks after the beginning of the testing phase.
PWYFF also added that the competitive progression (thus your MMR ) will be reset, but that the MMR in normal games will be partly kept to avoid an imbalance during the first days.
The goal is that seasoned players who played during the entire beta do not find themselves in the same games as novices. He also confirmed that these two values are completely different from each other.
Take advantage of the last days of competitive mode before the beta version and the servers are closed, from May 28 until the official release of the game.
