The new TSM carry commented on Voyboy's 'hypocrisy', stating he doesn't understand how the former pro player can congratulate Tyler1 for making it to Challenger when he is "extremely toxic."

LoL: Doublelift criticizes Voyboy's response to Tyler1 making Challenger playing jungle

The debate around the state of ranked play in League of Legends reached its zenith, thanks to a video from former pro player and popular streamer Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani.

It was an emotional message that ranged from nostalgia to sadness. However, now Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng has criticized the former Team Curse star due to his previously condescending attitude towards Tyler "Tyler1" Steinkamp.

The streamer's achievement — reaching Challenger playing as a jungler without knowing the position — has been punctuated by the player's return to the toxic behaviour he was known for in-game, even going AFK intentionally.

However, despite this behaviour attitudes, Voyboy didn't hesitate to congratulate him when he reached the highest rank attainable in League of Legends.

Doublelift was quick to point out the double standards. For the Team SoloMid ADC, it didn't make much sense for Voyboy to complain about the toxicity while then supporting a streamer who represents all his complaints.

"Voy’s the one who was like ‘Yeah, League solo queue, people leave, they troll, they’re really toxic, it’s the worst it’s ever been… You're my boy, you really proved all the haters wrong.'

Why are you like praising the guy that is extremely toxic and embodies what you hate in solo queue?”

Voyboy has not commented on Doublelift's statement, although it is a fair point. The state of ranked has not yet changed as necessary, but there are plans in place. While it's true that Tyler1 can be a lot of fun for his fans, he is far from championing the correct behavior in League of Legends.
