LCS: Former Team Liquid ADC Doublelift rejoins Team SoloMid

What started as a rumor has now become a reality: Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng is re-joining Team SoloMid for the upcoming League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split.

Via Travis Gafford, we learned a few days ago that Team Liquid had put Doublelift's contract up for sale or trade. Rumors spread like wildfire and everyone was bringing its own argumentation to predict the next team of the ADC veteran. However, the deal is now sealed as Doublelift is rejoining his former team, TSM.

Alongside Team Liquid, the veteran ADC has won the LCS on four occasions, but above all, he’s managed to shine internationally by reaching the final of the MSI 2019. However, it is clear that this Spring Split 2020 was a disaster for Liquid, which ended in 9th position, without even qualifying for the Playoffs.

Visa issues surrounding the import of former Fnatic jungler Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen certainly played a role in this failure. However, Doublelift himself admitted that he felt a drop in motivation that lead his team to replace him with Edward "Tactical" Ra during Week 7.

With Doublelift alongside Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg and Vincent "Biofrost" Wang, Team SoloMid is partially rebuilding the line-up that dominated the LCS in 2016 and 2017. Meanwhile, Edward "Tactical" Ra should be promoted from Liquid's Academy Team into the official LCS roster.

It remains to be seen what will become of Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup who currently holds the position of ADC at Team SoloMid. The organization promises to be currently looking for a team for its former player, whose future is currently uncertain...
