Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer is the embodiment of a tryharder. The midlaner started his career in 2013, and since then played for thirteen different teams, including Dignitas, team Coast, Immortals, and Team Liquid.
His journey in the League esports scene wasn't easy, and he oscillated between the LCS stage and the Academy one for years. However, Goldenglue never gave up. Sadly, following the recruitment of Tanner "Damonte" Damonte, he lost is spot as Golden Guardians' midlaner.
Goldenglue had a shot to prove he was the midlaner the team needed, but the team eventually decided to pick Damonte after a few days of scrim. In a fashion way, Gilmer also tried to compete for the Academy spot against Nicholas "Ablazeolive" Antonio Abbott, but eventually failed to prove he was the best.
"This is the first time I’ve been a free agent in around 4~ years," explained Goldenglue in a TwitLonger, "and to be completely honest it’s very exciting but also equally terrifying."
That said, Goldenglue isn't only entering free-agency as a player, but also as a coach. "I’ve decided that coaching makes a lot of sense for me," explained Golden Guardians' former midlaner, "considering my personality type and player experience."
It remains to be seen what will happen to Goldenglue, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him again on the Academy or the LCS stage — except this time, he might be standing behind the players instead of sitting in front of a computer...
