Fortnite: Cars release date and delay announced by Epic Games

It seems that the cars suffer from technical issues and have to stay in the garage for a while. While they were originally scheduled to arrive by July 21, Epic Games has announced a significant delay.

While cars were expected to be THE flagship feature of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3, they will arrive very late on the live servers. Epic Games has published a tweet on the game's social networks that humorously addresses the technical issues that seem to be affecting the vehicles.

"Fender bender? #NoSweat.
Run out of gas? That's not covered.

Our lawyers are currently sweating the policy details and fixing typos like 'otter coverage' instead of auto coverage. Due to this, many vehicles got taken for inspection.

Expect a few weeks until we're road ready."

The publisher accuses the insurers of "No Sweat" to explain the delay in deploying the feature. This is a real technical issue, which has forced developers to delay the release of the vehicles — initially scheduled for July 21.

Everything is ready on the map to allow the engines to purr: successive water level drops to discover roads and dry land, the appearance of new petrol stations... Even Week 6 Challenges were supposed to involve cars!

On its official publication, Epic Games claims a delay of "several weeks". The problem is that Season 3 was supposed to end at the end of August. Some game experts and dataminers have even speculated that the cars wouldn't arrive until Season 4...

At the time of this writing, it's hard to know when the mechanics will be able to get the cars back on the track, but one thing is for sure: this feature is eagerly awaited within the community.

New water level drop occurs in Fortnite

It's now a routine: every week the water level drops and reveals a little more land on Apollo Island. This time it's mainly Weeping Woods that becomes accessible again, while dataminers have already discovered the date of the next flood recession.
