Following the last recession of season 3 in Fortnite, the waves in retreating discovered the city of Atlantis. North of Sweaty Sands, the giant vortex has given way to a whole new place. Atlantis is surrounded by a wall of water and is mainly made up of ruined temples.
Contrary to what most of the game's experts hoped, no Aquaman NPC exists on-site as an Area Boss. Likewise, no Atlantean NPC patrolling the outskirts of the city: it's a completely standard place, at least for now!
It is rather good news on the competitive side: a few hours before the start of the FNCS, it would have been difficult for the pros to apprehend an area too rich in novelties and which would completely upset the metagame.
The only thing that really caught the attention of the dataminers on site was the presence of fish on the displays. It could well be a teasing of new varieties of fish, which can soon be caught on the island.
A theory that remains to be taken with a grain of salt, even if many files relating to new species of fish have been discovered recently via the various updates deployed.
Atlantis is not the only topographical novelty recently added to Fortnite. The water level has in principle reached its final stage, revealing the last areas which were still partially submerged.
We will finally be able to breathe: except in Atlantis, shark attacks should become rare!
