After an immense career spanning more than 30 years in the world of video games, Michel Ancel is leaving Ubisoft to focus on a new project: the creation of a wildlife sanctuary.
On his Instagram account, the Rayman creator indicated that development of Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Wild continue to run smoothly, with the development teams being autonomous and no longer necessarily needing his services.
BGE2 made a big impression during its first technical demonstration at E3 2018. From a gigantic city, an avatar controlled by Ancel flew through the air to reach a ship leaving the planet's atmosphere, until it caught a glimpse of the galaxy.
Since then, there have been a few gameplay sequences presented here and there, but nothing quite as substantial.
In any case, Ancel will forever remain an important name in the games industry, in particular in connection to the Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil franchises.
