PlayStation Trophy and level system have been updated

Introduced on PS3, the Trophies have become a way to celebrate successful in-game action for some, and a true way of life for collectors and completionists thirsty for the famous Platinum. The Playstation blog explains in detail the revisions to the thing.

The first point is the overhaul of the trophy levels, from 1-100 to 1-999, which should make it easier to distinguish very high level players. The example given is that a player with a level of 12 will be level 200. The first levels are quickly obtained, but not the following it will require more effort. Existing trophies are not affected in their unlock conditions. Platinum trophies will also count more towards level gains.
