Fortnite: several cities destroyed at the end of season 8?

It is possible to get an idea of the state of Tilted Towers and Retail Row after the eruption by using data files in the game after the 8.50 update.

Fortnite: several cities destroyed at the end of season 8?

Warning: the elements shown in this article have not been confirmed by Epic Games and come from data mining, but are probably largely correct and therefore constitute a spoil of the end of the season, read at your own risk!

When the five runes are gathered and the door dug at Loot Lake opens, something will happen... something. We don't know exactly what yet, but what seems certain from the data mined files in the game is that this event will precipitate a terrible eruption of the volcano that should leave indelible scars on the Fortnite map.

For several days now, many data miners have been trying to insert new textures added by the 8.50 update into the game's spectator mode and, given these textures, the largest cities on the map are likely to spend a very bad 15 minutes.

Note that the videos shown above are not accurate reproductions of the state of the cities after the eruption, only the ground textures are displayed while the buildings are invisible. But with such a chaotic ground, we can guess that the buildings will have been reduced to a state of ruin. The clock of the Tilted Tower can even be seen on the ground in the first video, sealing the fate of the iconic building.
