For several weeks, a controversy had been raging about the skins included in the Boundless set. As a result, Epic Games has decided to remove the all black and all white variants with Patch 15.30, expected next week.
If you selected all the customization options in matte black, the skin became almost impossible to detect with the naked eye as long as it remained motionless in the dark corners of the map.
As a result, a large part of the community became indignant about this shop-bought cosmetic that gave an indirect advantage in-game.
Accused of being pay to win, the publisher was quick to react and these variants will soon disappear. Purchasers of the Boundless bundle will be able to get a full refund within 30 days of their first connection to v15.30 of the game.
This wasn't Epic Games' first controversy when it comes to skins and accessories available in Fortnite. Toy Soldier skins have been accused of being too camouflaged, as all body parts, including the head, are greenish.
More recently, the Dragacorn glider from the Deadpool set was forced to undergo some adjustments. The deployment animation of this glider was quite complex and disadvantaged those who tried to shoot at you while you were in the air.
The advantage was such that the prop was briefly removed from all the competitive modes of the game, to be quickly patched in the next update.
