Tiger Woods has signed an exclusive contract with Take-Two, becoming executive producer and consultant on the PGA Tour 2K series. The developers behind PGA Tour 2K21, HB Studios, has also been acquired.
Tiger Woods was the face of EA’s PGA Tour series from 1998 through 2013. His name and likeness will now be exclusive to 2K Sports – which makes this the third league license that the publisher will manage.
David Ismalier, President at 2K, said “in golf, there is no bigger icon than Tiger Woods. Like the rest of the world, we were saddened to hear of his recent accident, and we wish him a full and smooth recovery. We have been eager to announce our partnership with Tiger, whose legendary career has transcended the sport. We are thrilled to have him join our PGA TOUR 2K series as an Executive Director.”
Woods has said he is looking forward to returning to video games, and “to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”
Developed by HB Studios, PGA Tour 2K21 is coming back soon on consoles and PC including 12 PGA Tour Pros and completely customizable characters.
