Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 has dropped, and with it comes changes to the game and map, as well as the Battle Pass!
When you first start the game, you'll find yourself in a new single-player mission, Zero Crisis Finale. This cannot be skipped nor is it time sensitive, so you can play through it when you are ready.
During this story mission, you will be warped between different skins including those in the Battle Pass; giving a taster of what you could have.
At the end, the Zero Point will be sealed in a tower of stone which becomes a new landmark for the map. However, during the process it sends out a pulse, which erases "any advanced technology" while "reshaping the landscape".
This sets up for the Primal theme of Season 6.
The removal of technology gives way for new Weapon Crafting. Players can now craft weapons on-the-fly, using loot from wildlife and other technology from around the map.
Right now, players can craft items like the Primal Rifle, Revolver, and Flame Bow; although more may come in the future!
That's right, Fortnite will be gaining Wildlife in Season 6. Players will see harmless chickens right through to deadly wolves.
These animals can be tamed or killed. They are easy to kill, so long as you have a gun, as they have little health; giving you bones and meat.
Chickens are harmless, and will run from you. Holding a chicken when jumping will allow you to glide for a while too.
Wild boars are more aggressive, living in woodland areas, and will attack players. They are solitary, and will defend against attacking wildlife.
Wolves can be found in woodlands too, usually in packs of two or three. Wolves will attack anything they see. In addition, wolves are also the only currently tameable animal.
Kill an animal to get meat, throw the meat towards a wolf like you were throwing a grenade, and then interact with the wolf when prompted as it is eating. Voila, a canine friend which will attack anything that shoots you!
Frogs can be found near water. Killing them will give you Stink Sacs, allowing you to craft Primal Stink Bows.
This is only the start, however, as large eggs have been spotted all over the map; dinosaur-sized eggs. With Epic teasing that "the most fearsome" predators have "yet to hatch", we can only assume that a prehistoric surprise is going to join the primal party.
There will also be Bunker Chests appearing, scattered across the island, which contain some of the more powerful weapons; these can range from rare to legendary.
We know that more weapons and upgrades will come throughout the Season, as well as the Neymar Jr skin!
The new season of Fortnite is here, and with it comes a new Battle Pass!
