New colour variants for the DualSense controller could be on their way

New colour variants for the DualSense controller could be on their way

As reported by Spanish website AreaJugones and picked up by TheGamer, two new variants of the DualSense controller for PS5 could be on their way.

The original article cites a source with 'internal contacts in the company', and suggests that there will be two new variants - a red and black controller, and one that fuses black and grey.

No other, specific information was given by the site, but they suggest that the launches would take place 'very soon'.

It would make sense that coloured variants would eventually come to the PS5, especially as the consoles faceplates have been engineered to be easily removeable. Allowing players to customise their setups with new faceplates and coloured controllers would also prove a good source of income for Sony.

The DualSense has proved to be a popular evolution of Sony's controller, with new features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers useful in adding to the experience of games. However, there has been some criticism of drift.
