VALORANT announces game mode rotation

With Replication coming to an end soon, the game will transition into a rotating game mode model to allow all modes to be featured.

VALORANT announces game mode rotation

VALORANT's Replication will go offline on May 25, meaning players have less than a week to enjoy the onslaught of smokes and turrets.

As Replication comes to an end, however, a new mode will come into play again as a cycle of game modes start. This will match the patches, so around every two weeks, and will feature Replication, Escalation, and Snowball Fight.

Only having one game mode live allows for all the resources to go into it, instead of spread across multiple ones. Having three game modes live, on top of the standard and competitive ways to play, will dilute the queues too much and it'd take longer to get into game.

This seems to only be a short-term plan, with it going for a few cycles as the team assess what to do in the long-term.

We don't yet know which game mode will come on May 26, or the order in which they'll cycle, but having these for-fun modes to support the normal way to play will be a welcome addition to the more casual players.
