The Dr. Mundo changes have been on everyone's minds since the Volibear rework. While there is a focus on the visual changes, there have been changes to his abilities too.

Dr. Mundo rework hits League of Legends in Patch 11.12, here is the first look at his new abilities!

The update to one of League of Legends' oldest Champions is finally here, ready to hit PBE before coming to the live servers for Patch 11.12 in a couple of weeks. Riot has been sharing their designs and insights as they slowly worked on the doctor, in their attempt to make him less goofy and more doctor-ish; whilst also keeping his fun elements. Will this be like the transformation of Hulk in the MCU? From incomprehensible rage beast to a balance of muscle and brain?

More details of the Dr. Mundo rework revealed

Following the recent update on Dr. Mundo's rework, Riot Games have revealed a little more about how the Madman of Zaun will play out.

Dr Mundo's Reworked Abilities

(Passive) - Goes Where He Pleases

Dr. Mundo resists the next immobilizing effect that hits him, instead losing current health and dropping a chemical cannister nearby. Dr. Mundo can pick it up by walking over it, restoring a portion of maximum health and reducing this passive's cooldown. Enemies moving over the cannister destroy it.

Dr. Mundo also has increased health regeneration based on his maximum health.

(Q) - Infected Bonesaw

Dr. Mundo throws an infected bonesaw, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit based on their current health and slowing them.

(W) - Heart Zapper

Dr. Mundo electrocutes himself for a few seconds, dealing persistent magic damage to nearby enemies and storing a portion of damage he takes as grey health. At the end of the duration, Dr. Mundo deals a burst of magic damage to nearby enemies and heals his grey health if an enemy is hit (heal reduced if only minions or monsters are hit). Dr. Mundo can recast Heart Zapper to end its effects early.

(E) - Blunt Force Trauma

Passive - Dr. Mundo has bonus attack damage, increasing based on his missing health.

Active - Dr. Mundo slams his “medical” bag into an enemy, dealing physical damage based on his missing health. If the enemy dies they are swatted away, dealing this ability's minimum damage to enemies they pass through.

(R) - Maximum Dosage

Dr. Mundo pumps himself with chemicals, instantly healing a percent of his missing health. He then heals a portion of his maximum health over a long duration, gaining bonus movement speed and attack damage while healing.

We know the rework has been on the cards for a while, with a lot of his kit matching what Riot has said they were hoping to do with him; specifically the tenacity on his Passive.

Overall, his kit matches his current live abilities closely, so it won't take much to learn him. His Passive seems similar to Poppy's, regaining health instead of a shield, and his (E) has a little bit of Sion's Roar of the Slayer to it.

His (Q) and (R) are almost identical to his now 'old' kit, while his (W) and (E) just add a little something new and better matches Dr. Mundo's aesthetic and lore.

Dr. Mundo will drop in the next patch, but be sure to check him out on PBE!

Dr. Mundo hits League of Legends next patch, and revamped skins are just what the doctor ordered

Along with his new abilities, the Madman of Zaun is getting revamped visuals. This means updated skins and splash art, as well as changes to his model.
