VALORANT flashes getting nerfed in Episode 3

VALORANT flashes getting nerfed in Episode 3

Five Agents wield flashes in VALORANT, and Riot are hoping to balance it as we go into Episode 3; starting with nerfs to Breach and Skye.

Abilities in VALORANT were always meant to aid or disrupt especially when it comes to vision, not be the central part of Riot's FPS. While flashes definitely do that, vision denial is slowly taking over the game; and it's never nice to play against.

The two largest problems are Skye and Breach, with the main issue being that the flash is their main utility.

The goal here is to provide Breach and Skye with more self-sufficiency, to do so, we’re looking to remove their ability to dish out 3 consecutive flashes,”
John Goscicki, Character Producer (Source)

Riot will probably look to put a cooldown on Skye and Breach's flashes, targeting their ability to throw out consecutive vision denials. A five to ten second cooldown will change their playstyle, forcing players to spread out the uses rather than dumping them all at once.

To keep things balanced, power will be put into other abilities to coincide the flash nerfs. Goscicki says they "are looking to balance power across his kit, instead of it all sitting on his flash.”

This is just the start of the balance changes coming to VALORANT Episode 3, coming with Yoru buffs and Astra nerfs.
