League of Legends is gearing up for another rework next season. Udyr was chosen by players in a survey carried out during the first months of the year, gaining an overwhelming majority. Riot
Reworks being a long process, the rework will land in 2022, communicating with the community so that changes cause minimal controversy.
A new Udyr that maintains the same essence
Riot claims to have learned from the mistakes of the past, and wants to preserve the identity of Udyr. The goal is for him to remain a melee fighter based on different stances, so that he doesn't lose what makes him unique.
When it comes to creating exciting moments, the developer has come up with a preliminary idea that is currently sitting as a favorite for the champion's skill kit. It is an alternative that tries to combine its shamanic and martial artist aspects, what they care calling 'super stance'.
While still not very clear on how to integrate this concept, Riot is pushing to include it. Udyr will continue to have four forms, but whether these get ramped up capabilities or not on recast are to be determined.
Naturally, with all this comes a total redesign visually, one that fits both the new lore of League of Legends and the character's ability kit too.
For now, this is all we will be given about Udyr until the end of the year. We wait with baited breath.
