It's not something that usually registers with most, but in a title that has as many players as League of Legends, it's easy to find a hugely diverse range of profiles.
It's a reality that can result in policemen and criminals alike sharing equipment and objectives in an unforeseen way -- as was proved in a story more akin to a Hollywood movie.
The policeman, the criminal, and the Chinese culture of League of Legends
As reported by Baijiahao, off-duty policeman Yihao Zhang decided to spend some downtime playing games with friends at an internet café in Chongqing City.
While there, an extraordinarily skilled player arrived at the same venue -- secifically, one of the top-ranked players on the oldest server in the country.
In China, when a player of this level comes to an internet cafe, it is common for the summoner name and seat to be announced over the venue's PA system.
However, when Yihao curiously went over to see who the player was, and recognized the player as a suspect wanted in a civil assault case.
After verifying the Challenger player's identity, the off-duty officer contacted colleagues and the arrest was made.
The downside to the whole situation? As Yihao had got up to investigate the suspect, his own game started without him -- resulting in a loss due to the AFK.
