The story of Viego the Fallen King comes to an end in League of Legends and with it, the last champion directly linked to his legacy. After a first gameplay video last week, Vex, the Gloomist featured in the Sentinels of Light narrative arc, reveals her entire spell kit.
Skills
Doom 'n Gloom — Passive
Doom: Periodically, Vex becomes empowered by Doom, causing her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and Fear enemies.
Gloom: Whenever a nearby enemy dashes or blinks, they becomes marked with Gloom. Vex’s next basic attack against a marked enemy detonates the mark dealing bonus damage and refunding part of Doom’s cooldown.
Q - Mistral Bolt
Vex unleashes a wave of mist in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies it passes through and accelerating in speed though reducing in width after travelling 500 units.
W - Personal Space
Vex emits a shockwave around her before the cast time, gaining a shield for 2.5 seconds and dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies.
E - Looming Darkness
Vex commands Shadow to fly to the target location, increasing the radius of the area as it travels. Upon arrival, Shadow deals magic damage to all nearby enemies and slows them for 2 seconds.
R - Shadow Surge
Vex commands Shadow to launch itself in the target direction, briefly granting sight of the area along its path and dealing magic damage to all enemies hit.
If recasted Vex commands Shadow to pull her towards the marked target with displacement immunity, consuming the mark upon arrival to deal them magic damage.
The champion's passive seems somewhat very strong, especially since it can be applied with three of her spells. A highly mobile enemy champion will suffer greatly if they find themselves fighting Vex. The reset of her ultimate also looks be very strong on paper this spell could be lethal in teamfight or even to finish off a fleeing target.
If Vex is initially intended for the mid lane, her kit can easily throw her in a supporting position. Until we know more about her with the PBE tests, fear the shadow!
The Yordle already made her way arrive on the PBE and is planned to be released with patch 11.19 scheduled for September 22 .
Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg has been retired for almost a year, but might be back to League of Legends soon as rumors of him looking for a team for 2022 spreads.
