While there has not yet been an official press release from PEACE, the League of Legends Oceania champions, the team may have to go to 2021 Worlds without its usual toplaner, Yao " Apii " Jian-Jing. The latter shared on Weibo that the Chinese Embassy in Australia is currently closed and that he may not be able to get his visa for Europe.
The fastest way would be to return to China to apply for a visa, but with the imposed quarantine time it would be too late to participate in the tournament.
It's a real blow for the team. While Oceania has lived a special year with the death of the OPL and the creation of the LCO, the region is over-motivated to show that they are still in the game.
The team had good results at MSI with PGG, but Worlds promises to be more complicated. We do not yet have the name of the potential stand-in but fan can still hope just like last year, PSG Talon had played the Play-In with two substitutes and still managed to qualify for the Main Event.
Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg has been retired for almost a year, but might be back to League of Legends soon as rumors of him looking for a team for 2022 spreads.
