The world of luxury fashion is closely following the evolution of the video game market, and vice versa. Now, it's come to Fortnite, arguably one of the biggest on the market.
Just a few months after a crossover with Ferrari, Epic Games has now teamed up with fashion brand of the moment Balenciaga for a new range of skins and accessories, now live in-game.
- Unchained Ramírez Outfit: The Terror of Haute Couture. Includes the alternative Silver Unchained Ramírez Style.
- Shady Doggo Outfit: Has a nose for style. Includes the alternate Midnight Shady Doggo and Cardinal Shady Doggo Styles.
- Fashion Banshee Outfit: Ready to rock the runway. Includes the alternative 24K Fashion Banshee Style.
- Game Knight Outfit: So retro that it looks Renaissance. Includes the alternative Stealth Game Knight Style.
- Logo Lugger Back Bling: Allover prints are in right now.
- Skate Pocket Duffle Back Bling: Perfect for holding both stuff AND things.
- Everyday Sleekpack Back Bling: High fashion. Low profile.
- Camo Carrier Back Bling: Where'd I leave that backpack?
The partnership also works the other way around, with Fortnite items appearing on the Balenciaga store online.
The prices are just a little higher than for the skins in-game, mind you -- you'll pay $495 for a T-shirt and $395 for a cap, for example. Yikes.
A creative mode dedicated to branding
Do you want to share the style that suits you best? Designed by members of the Shride, MakaMakes and Pimit communities, the Strange Times Featured Hub brings to life an authentic virtual Balenciaga boutique, located within a particularly strange city.
This special mode, available from September 21-28, allows players to get together with their friends and change their appearances through changing rooms, and even get your hands on the Balenciaga line directly.
There are also billboards featuring other players -- will you end up on one?
Two missions will also reward you with free Balenciaga sprays upon completion.
