A language lives, a language moves. In League of Legends, it's possible to communicate with your team through chat, but if you don't handle English language, a simple game tip can quickly turn into a puzzle. So, in order to break the language barrier, Riot Games has invented its own means of communication: pings. Right now, there are 4 different signals in Summoner's Rift. It is possible to use them in several situations such as requests for assistance, danger, lack of champions and also to warn of our arrival.
In League, it's pretty likely that a player will keep spamming pings without being understood. And when the dialogue is broken, chaos is not so far: a disorganized botlane, a completely missed gank... Miscommunication is not new, but whose fault is it? On Reddit, u / shaidyn suggests adding new signals like "Freeze" or "Push"... but could we even look further and have endless choices like in Overwatch ?

An interesting idea and full of proposals
In the modern League, waves' states have become one of the most important factors in the laning phase. A game can be won or lost because a minion lives or dies at an inconvenient time. This is why indicating this kind of event to your teammates could be very useful — especially when you are not in premade groups.
In the jungle, the "Push" ping could provide you with a back-up during an invasion in the opponent's side of the map. Conversely, when we are in the middle, you will be able to indicate your desire to have a gank with the "Freeze" ping ... And you can still use it if you want people to avoid hitting your wave until that you get back on your way — it happens every time! For the moment, the available pings are too open to misinterpretation ...
But why wouldn't it be possible to see these new pings one day?
- Heal me! : to avoid any misunderstanding with your Soraka or Yuumi.
- Back with me : tempo is important, right?
- Get ready, I'm coming in! : instead of spamming "On My Way", it would be used for characters like Malphite or Rakan.
- Ward here please : a support is useful, but it can quickly be disappointing if he does not know the bush not to be missed
- Go dive! : we could setup the wave and not end up 1v2 under the tower.
- Focus + champion : we could combine with another ping to indicate who is the champion to target
Having ideas is good, but putting them into play is better. Riot is the only decision maker, but it would be conceivable to customize our pings as it is possible to customize our ingame emotes. While the Californian game publisher has announced the closure of the /all chat, will it make sure to develop other means of communication such as pings?
