Nintendo Direct: Splatoon 3 presents its Salmon Run Next Wave mode

During the last Nintendo Direct took place and this one brought its share of announcements, updates, DLC and games. Splatoon 3 also had its little moment. The latter was dedicated to the cooperative mode of the license, the Salmon Run.

The February 2022 Nintendo Direct returned to the next installment of the Splatoon license and more specifically to one of the modes introduced in Splatoon 2, the Salmon Run. In this mode, players cooperate to collect eggs by defeating enemies and collecting them. A mode that takes place in three waves and has a whole armada of creatures that will come to prevent you from harvesting your goods.

New enemies for Splatoon 3

In the trailer, we discover new enemies who come to lend a hand to their friends. We find there the Fish Stick which is a tower on which we find fish which turn like on a merry-go-round. To overcome this enemy, it will be necessary to defeat all the monsters that compose it. A new boss will also be there, the Flipper-Flopper, which has the particularity of being able to cover an area of paint when it jumps and thus slow you down before knocking you out by crushing you.

The novelty that remains the most interesting for this mode is the fact of being able to throw the eggs and thus be able to transfer them more quickly to the basket. This feature seems innocuous but if you have already played in the Salmon Run, it is possible that you have found yourself stuck between monsters and you would surely have liked to be able to send your eggs to your allies or even to establish a strategy to obtain the most of them possible by each covering an area.

While waiting to be able to find your friends for games filled with fun, we remind you that Splatoon 3 will be released this summer.
