Ultra badass and very charismatic characters, breathtaking animations and a more than enticing DA... The next nugget from Hoyoverse (the creators of Genshin Impact), Zenless Zone Zero, revealed itself today with a first inaugural trailer, and the least we can say is that it lives up to our expectations. The simple fact that this announcement is successful is a feat in itself, since HoYoverse is going through a delicate period, due to the health crisis in Shanghai. In addition, the Chinese studio already had a new project in the pipeline, also very promising: Honkai Star Rail .
What is the game about?
The official Zenless Zone Zero website is open, but it still contains very little information about the title. It should first be noted that the game is rated PEGI 16 , which implies a degree of violence that will not be the same as Genshin Impact. We can expect a cruder and more trashy futuristic universe.
On the gameplay side, it should be a roguelite where you can embody several characters (a bit like Genshin Impact, ultimately). You will have to progress through faults and defeat monsters without falling into traps on your way.
It is still too early to say for sure, but this new HoYoverse franchise could go through a gatcha economic system; you will have to spend in-game resources to hope to collect the new characters.
What about lore?
The player will have to venture into thematic "Hollows" with characters equipped with big futuristic guns. He will thus have to reconquer from the hands of supernatural forces (the Ethereals) refuges for humanity.
At the time of writing these lines, the game does not yet have a definitive release date, but it is already possible to pre-register for a chance to participate in the beta phases .
