A new champion is about to arrive in League of Legends. Riot Games officially announced Bel'Veth through a cutscene and revealed its base spashart to all players. However, the developer's promotional campaign was far from over. The studio continued to show small previews of the character and now we have a video for the first time in which we can see her in-game.
The first official details on Bel'Veth's abilities
The method chosen by Riot Games to deliver this first sample of Bel'Veth gameplay was a bit peculiar. The developer released several QR codes during MSI 2022 . They weren't very visible and went unnoticed by many players. However, community members figured out that it wasn't a broadcast error and discovered the secret. After scanning the codes, here are the videos we were able to find about the new champion's abilities.
The truth is that the videos allow us to draw many conclusions about the character's abilities, which don't look exactly like the ones we've seen in the leaks. First, we seem to see the champion as he uses the true form that would be unleashed during the ultimate. The abilities we see in the video are as follows. Note that their effects could be modified by the passive of its eventual ultimate ability.
- W (Up and Down) : This doesn't appear to be as dramatic an effect as the leaks mentioned, but more like a spell very similar to his Q - Sword of the Darkin's first attack.
- Q (Surge of the Void) : Indeed, Bel'Veth can use his movement ability up to four times in a very short time, provided he does so in the directions indicated by his arrow. Contrary to what was initially said, it does not seem to slow down enemies.
- E (Royal Maelstrom) - Bel'Veth channels a whirlwind of energy in which she appears to take less damage or be invulnerable. While channeling, it deals damage per second to enemies in an area.
- Passive 1 : Abilities display a white number with the damage inflicted by Bel'Veth. This color is usually used for raw damage. Therefore, we know that the character will inflict this type of damage in small amounts, but consistently.
- Passive 2 : Tied to initial ultimate leaks, by finishing off her opponent, Bel'Veth picks up an item that Vi drops when she falls in combat, heals herself, and generates an explosion that can deal damage.
- Passive 3 – Bel'Veth spawns monsters by killing enemies. They seem to behave similarly to minions, though it's not apparent from the details shown so far.
- Attack Speed : In the last of the videos, it was shown how Bel'Veth easily exceeded existing attack speed limits in the game. It is unknown if this is through an ability, temporary state, or passive.
Hopefully Riot Games will continue these presentations as the MSI progresses. The truth is that, despite the leaks, the studio is trying hard to maintain uncertainty . This is especially true today since we know that they weren't quite accurate on the champion's abilities. Some of them work as expected, but others are different and it looks like there's still room for surprises. We now have to wait for the official reveal of his spell kit, a revelation that shouldn't take too long.
