Like every year, Riot Games will adjust its prices on League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics to take into account inflation, taxes and regional differences.
These changes will be effective on August 19, so from July 14 to July 31, Riot Games is running an “RP bonus” offer so you can enjoy maximum RP . Double "Bonus RP" and "Bonus TFT Coins" will be distributed on all purchases of RP and TFT Coins in all regions. After the end of this promotion, RP packs will return to normal until August 19, as listed above.
Prices revised upwards
The measure will be implemented through two strategies. There will be a general price increase for the cheapest packs. What used to cost exactly €10 will now drop to €10.99 and the favorite product of many, the €20 plan, will drop to €21.99 . From there, the increase is done by reducing the amount of RP we receive for the same price. Thus, by spending 35 euros at once, we will go from 5,000 RP to only 4,500.
The price increase is about 10%. An unpopular decision that matches inflation and will allow Riot Games to maintain League of Legends revenue despite silver devaluation So far, no changes have been announced regarding the possibilities of obtaining Riot Points for free or promotions such as Prime Gaming. Unless there are changes in future plans, promotions should not be affected by these changes.
There's no good time for this kind of news, but the League of Legends price hike announcement comes at the worst possible time. Lately, the community has been keen to criticize the developer for its abusive monetization practices or lowering the quality of skins. Indeed, following the announcement of the temporary suspension of the Bazar des essences, these criticisms exploded.
