You might not know his name, but if you love League of Legends , you owe Steve Feak a big debt. Better known on the internet by the nickname Guinsoo , he was one of the stars of Riot Games when the studio was just starting to develop the video game that made him famous around the world. Also responsible for the maintenance and evolution of the first Dota, he is considered by many to be the father of MOBAs. After all, he was the one who created the most popular (not the first, but the one that was considered the best) DotA map, the one that has defined the MOBA genre for almost 20 years. However, he has long since given up his position in the industry to develop a new video game called Fangs whose open beta has just started.
How to try Fangs?
Fangs is a MOBA-style multiplayer game in which two teams of three players battle for victory by eliminating rivals or completing objectives. In much smaller maps than what we are used to in this type of game and with a proposal focused on much faster and more constant action , the goal is to energize the games by making them shorter but also more nervous.
The Guinsoo-led development team has announced an open testing phase that will take place on servers in Europe, North America, and South America starting October 5, 2022 . Participation is, of course, completely free and the steps to follow in order to be able to try Fangs are very simple. All you need to do is go to the official developer site and fill out a short questionnaire to receive a guaranteed key that will be exclusive to Steam.

Moreover, Guinsoo is not the only "ex" of League of Legends who participates in the development of this new video game. Riot Games' father of the star title has also enlisted some of the developer's top talent to create this new experience. As MOBA fans, this title deserves our attention, at least for a few games.
On familiar ground?
It would be a lie to say that some skills visible in the video extract are not reminiscent of League of Legends (Ashe's Arrow, Lissandra's Claw, Garen's Tourbilol etc), or other MOBAS, or that the graphics do not make a little think of Battlerite. Nevertheless, these are very basic skills, which can be found in other MOBAS, and some of which were imagined by Guinsoo himself , so to speak of plagiarism would be very simplistic. As for the graphics, if they seem simplistic, it's because the final goal of the game is to be cross-platform , also exporting to mobiles .
Moreover, Fangs is not at its first announcement, Hidden Leaf Games (the studio behind the game) raised 3.2 million dollars in 2021 to develop the game, and it was their fourth fundraiser on this subject ( even if the sum is substantial, to develop a game today it is far from incredible). Fangs, the future game that will bury LoL and DotA 2? Probably not . A different and friendly experience , which will be able to find its audience, and make us have a good time? Very possible .
