In a little over two weeks, the Fortnite World Cup Grand Finals will take place in New York City from July 26 to 28. All qualified players are ready to fight in solo and duet formats in a competition that is likely to be well attended by the players all around the world.
The only problem seems to be the last content update and one of the novelties it brings. In fact, Air Strikes were leaked for a long time but we didn't really know much about them. Now that they are officially coming into the game, we can imagine why they are a concern for the competitive community.
Air Strikes are able to destroy entire structures and buildings with 20 missiles launched from the air. This new grenade is not unanimously accepted by the pro players because of its release only 20 days before the beginning of the Grand Final. This issue is understandable since this new feature completely changes the game's meta.
Building is an essential part of Fortnite and it often distinguishes an average player from a very good player. Therefore, players will not have time to master this new item which seems unusual knowing that there is $30,000,000 cash prize.
Let's hope that Epic Games can listen to the players and find a solution before the start of the competition on July 26
