In its ten years of existence, and with so many champions to its credit, League of Legends has cared for the oldest. Indeed, if at one time Soraka almost literally launched bananas, and could give back mana to its allies, Riot Games has modernized its gameplay. Whether in visual upgrades, to make champions sexier and more attractive, as for Ezreal, most of them are experiencing real updates until they change their game style in depth.
Make something new with something old
This was the case recently for Mordekaiser, who no longer looks like what it was at the beginning. More Heavy Metal than ever, Mordekaiser surveys the Summoner's Rift with a new style of play; if the idea of soul capture is still present in reality, it no longer looks like basic ultimate. Now, Mordekaiser is training a targeted champion in the world of the dead, in order to face him.
For other players, this translates into two souls running in the scenery of the Summoner's Rift. Riot Games, by choosing to rework a champion, allows him to be reborn. In ten years, their vision of this champion has changed, as have the players who no longer expect the same things as before. The essence of the champion remains, but the whole is no longer the same; we can see it as a reinterpretation, or a rewriting of the champions.
Top 5 visual reworks
We're not going to lie to each other, the first champions didn't look good. We are interested here in the first 17 champions of the game launched with alpha on February 22, 2009. Alistar, Annie, Ashe, Fiddlesticks, Jax, Kayle, Master Yi, Morgana, Nunu, Ryze, Sion, Sivir, Soraka, Teemo, Tristana, Twisted Fate and Warwick: these are the names of the first settlers of the Summoner's Rift.
Teemo
Still as annoying as ever, we can't deny that Teemo is still much cuter now.
Sion
Claimed loud and clear by the community, the visual rework of the undead colossus arrived in 2014 for our greatest pleasure.
Annie
The terrible child of League of Legends, always accompanied by her faithful Tibbers. The champion also had the right to a revision of her (dramatic) story in 2018.
Ashe
The Frost Archer is probably one of the most emblematic champions of the game, justice had to be done to her.
Soraka
Thee original visual speaks for itself...
Visually, the game has kept up with the times and evolved with its players, this community that has supported League of Legends since its inception. Developers regularly interact with players via official forums and reveal the progress of their projects, whether it's game balancing, new skins, reworks and much more. A stated will that gives the player the feeling of being part of a large family (sometimes a little toxic).
So, we're just hoping for one thing now: to meet in 10 years.
