Everyone loves Poro, except if you're a monster.
Introduce alongside the original implementation of the Howling Abyss, poros joined League of Legends as tiny loving creatures from Freljord. A few years later, Riot Games went even deeper with them and gathered them into a Legends of Runeterra tribe.
However, before releasing their digital CCG, they already dedicated poros a whole temporary game mode: Legend of the Poro King!
Brace yourselves because, alongside Patch 9.24 and the newly announced Dawn & Night event, the Poro King is back!
Played on the Howling Abyss, the Legend of the Poro King game mode is really similar to an ARAM — except it's a constant snowball warfare. You're flinging poros to your opponents, and when ten enemy champions have been hit, the King is summoned.
He's pushing the lane, healing you periodically, giving you a fair advantage onto your opponents. You can also use the To the King! spell to return to his side at any time, which means you can rocket jump to your enemies without fearing to be instantly obliterated.
However, this year is going to be a little bit different, because our beloved ruler returns with a twist.
The King, influenced by the Dawn & Night event, will grant you access to two new Poro Snax:
- Nightbringer Snax: "The king will channel the dark winds of Nightbringer Yasuo to disrupt and disorient your foes after consuming this bitter morsel."
- Dawnbringer Snax: "The king will summon the blade of Dawnbringer Riven to hurl you into the heart of battle when you feed him these celestial treats."
Currently tested on the PBE, the Dawn & Night Poro King should be unleashed onto the live servers alongside patch 9.24 — so get ready to hurl snowballs on December 11!
