The first chapter of Galakrond's Awakening, Hearthstone's latest solo adventure, is called Battle of the Frozen Coast. On this page you can access all the information about the E.V.I.L campaign version — but don't worry, explorer friends, you'll find all the information for your camp on the other page!

Battle of the Frozen Coast: The Explorers campaign

In the course of this adventure, the forces of the Good and the E.V.I.L will face each other one last time in Northrend, for the future of the world of Azeroth. In the first three battles, you will play as one of the Explorers, and you will face these the vile Legions of E.V.I.L., in order to thwart their plans... Your deck (and your opponent's) is pre-built and themed according to your hero!

First Battle: Brann Bronzebeard vs Dr. Boom

For the first battle of the Explorers, you embody the proud Brann and you'll play a deck that mixes cards from the Hunter and the Warrior.

You start the game with a rather powerful minion on the battlefield: The Amazing Reno!

4/12 for (6), it has the effect of gaining +1 to spell damage each time you play a spell. There's only one problem: at the end of turn 2, it is removed by the diabolical Dr. Boum, and leaves the board!

Your opponent's heroic power is the same as in the E.V.I.L chapter, namely: SUMMON THE BOTS! for (2) which adds a random Boom Labs Mech to your hand. On Brann's side, it is your Trusty Whip that acts as the hero power. For (2), it Inflicts 1 point of damage to a minion and the minion to his right. Watch out for your opponent's Mechs, which can make taking control of the board quite complicated! With a bit of management and a few good Rush creatures, you'll take the ascendancy in this first fight quite easily.

Heroic Mode

  • The hero power doesn't change.

At the end of the fight, you leave in search of Reno and unlock the Neutral common card: Skydiving Instructor.

Second Battle: Archmage Khadgar vs Avalanchan

In this fight, everything is out of proportion. The life of the enemy is 150, but above all, it is your spells that are overpowering!

For those of you who have known Karazhan's adventure, you will recognize several of them. Your hero power, Summon Elemental, costs (2) and — as its name might suggest it — summons a 2/3 elemental that copies your spells. You might as well say that you'll want to have several of them on the field at all times!

Your spells are all game-breaker, and being able to copy them makes them even more enjoyable. You'll enjoy casting tons of spells in this game. Avalanchan's hero power, Sculpted Ice, summons a copy of a minion and Silence it. ** So be careful what you summon, as your opponent will be able to retrieve a minion with their stats!

Heroic Mode

The cost Avalanchan's hero power is reduced from (3) to (1)!

As a reward for this hard-fought battle, you win Animated Avalanche, a common Mage card.

Last Battle: Commander Elise vs Kriziki the Winged

For this last fight of the chapter, you face Kriziki, who has the same power as in the E.V.I.L campaign. Wings of Rebirth costs (2) and Confers Reborn to a servant and "Cannot be targeted by spells or hero powers".

Our heroine, on the other hand, has a fairly powerful Druid Token deck with a hero power named Plan Ahead. For (2) you can display the three cards on top of the deck. You choose the one you want to draw. A good filtering effect with a draw effect. Elise has cards like similar to Zephrys, which uncovers the perfect card, except it costs 0. Ideal to finish off your opponent.

Heroic mode

  • No change in your opponent's heroic power.

After completing this chapter, you win two new cards: the rare Priest card, Dark Prophecy, and the rare Druid card, Winged Guardian.
