With a game that will only allow you to play the Midgar part, Final Fantasy VII Remake will need a lot of extra content. But don't worry, the last big wave of new details thrown last week by Square Enix, shows us the first information dedicated to side quests.
Side quests
This is a classic side quest system, however, some opportunities may be limited by chapters. In the image below, it's clear that there are 6 side quests available throughout chapter 3, and only 4 have been discovered by the player.
If the side quests are segmented in this way, there will be a way to go back, like a time machine or Noctis break room in Final Fantasy XV. Completing one of these quests also seems to reload your HP/MPs to the max, as in the second image.
Chadley's Reports
Chadley is Professor Hojo's intern. At the age of 15, he will help the group by selling and developing new Materias. Located in the Slums of Sector 7, he will offer quests around monster analysis, the use of Materias and fighting in general.
In the image below, you can see that completing Biological Research 1 by simply analyzing 2 enemies will be rewarded with the new Auto-cure material. These challenges will surely get harder as you progress, so you can expect some nice challenges to acquire higher level materials.
