Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Turn-based combat for classic mode

If you're looking for turn-based gameplay in Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix came up with an alternative difficulty mode already included in the demo.

Many fans of the 1997 game are not completely satisfied with the new direction chosen for this Final Fantasy VII Remake. Much more action and punch, Combat system has nothing to do with the old turn-based game from more than 20 years ago.

Classic turn-based mode

Right from the demo, Square Enix offers a Classic mode that will automatize the basic moves and let the player choose the commands (skills, special attacks, magic, items). Only available in easy difficulty, this mode might not be impressive for the defenders of the original title's style but is still a great addition for nostalgics players.

It should also be pointed out that this demo version offers the first chapter of the game, Cloud and Barret don't yet have many tools to defend themselves: so we'll have to see if this new mode will be improved later on with materias and the addition of a third character to the team.

Finally, it's still possible to take control of your character at any time, or simply press triangle or hold square to come out with easy attacks that will increase your ATB much faster.
