After a Bunny Day event that started to annoy most players, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is back to introduce new characters and new features. Today begins a whole new event: Nature Day. The latter celebrates Earth Day (real world event) and invites us all to take care of the planet.

Event dates

You can enjoy Nature Day from April 23 to May 4, 2020.

First step: talk to Leaf

You can find this new character on the central square of your island (Residents' Office or City Hall). The sloth will then talk to you about "Shrub Starts". These are the famous bushes that were added with update 1.2.0. Please note, these bushes can be planted at any time but will only bud according to the season.

Once the presentations have been made, you can talk to Leaf again to access his stock of seeds and Shrub Starts by selecting "Watch your merchandise!". What it can sell you depends on the days, so don't hesitate to come back every day!

  • Pink and White Azaleas (spring)
  • Holly
  • Red and Yellow Hibiscus
  • Orange and Yellow Tea Olives (fall)
  • All types of flower seeds (most often, it sells flower seeds that you don't have natively on your island and / or that are not sold at Nook's Cranny!)

Second step: Talk to Tom Nook

Go to the Residents' Office (or City Hall) to speak to Tom Nook. He will explain to you that a special offer is underway for holders of the Nook Miles+ app! Indeed, you will be able to collect many more Miles than usual thanks to this offer linked to Nature Day. The tanooki will also talk about a final "gift": it's a DIY recipe to obtain the Hedge.

Third step: carry out special activities

Open your Nookphone and go to the Nook Miles app. By pressing "+" you will see that daily activities are offered. They are not limited to the number of 5 since each time you complete one, a new quest appears. Among the 5, there will always be a special Nature Day quest which will allow you to receive more Miles points than usual! On the image below for example, you will notice that you can earn 200 Miles x5 (1000 miles) just by planting 3 shrubs starts.

Step Four: Return to Tom Nook to Receive the Hedge Fence

Once you have completed your first Nook Miles+ missions linked to Nature Day, return to Tom Nook at the Town Hall. He will then give you the DIY Recipe to make Hedge.

To make 10 hedges, you will need:

  • 10 weeds
  • 5 tree branches
  • 2 stones

Step Five: Pull Weeds Out!

Harvest a maximum of weeds and return to Leaf by choosing the "Let's talk about herbs" option. Racine will then buy your weed much more expensive than at Nook's Cranny. Each herb will give you 20 bells!

Unlocking success Shrubbery Hubbubbery

Thanks to this event and to the bushes that Leaf sells, you can unlock a new success in your Nook Miles. The latter is called "Shrubbery Hubbubbery":

  • Plant 1 shrub: 300 miles
  • Plant 5 shrubs: 500 miles
  • Plant 20 shrubs: 1000 miles
How to upgrade the Nook's Cranny in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

The Little Boutique of the brothers can obviously expand in Animal Crossing New Horizons. It will then become larger and more beautiful and offer you a larger quantity of items. Find out in this guide how to access the Nook's Cranny Upgrade on Nintendo Switch.
