Make use of your expedition quests to collect all the Old Messages in Monster Hunter Rise. Those of the Shrine Ruins are particularly well hidden, so follow our guide to make sure you don't get lost along the way.
Rewards
Collecting the ten Old Messages will only get you a few Kamura Points, and some furniture to decorate your room. If you're feeling up to it though, here's what you need to do!
Old message 1
- Located in area 5, climb one of the highest cliffs. You should easily spot the place, there's a sword planted right in front of an old shrine.
Old message 2
- Located near the edge of area 8, placed at the intersection between two cliffs that leads downstream. You will need to use a Wirebug to wall run up the cliffside.
Old message 3
- Climb the cliff to the south of area 12. The Old Message can be found next to an altar.
Old message 4
- Far east of area 11. The Old Message can be found in a crevice when you climb the wall with a Wirebug to try to reach the large shrine above.
Old message 5
- By climbing the cliff in the higher up of area 13. The place is easy to find since a bridge is situated nearby.
Old message 6
- Righ between areas 7 and 8, climb the cliff near a large stone archway.
Old message 7
- At the end of the big branch of the tree hanging over the river in area 2.
Old message 8
- On the path that intersects areas 5 and 6, locate a cave dug in the rock. To get there, you'll need some Wirbugs and a wall running ability.
Old message 9
- In a pile of grass near the wall northwest of area 7. You just need to pick it up.
Old message 10
- Located south of area 5 on a small ledge that can be found on the side of a cliff face. You'll find a sword stuck in the tall grass.
