Salamander Snails are a special type of harvestable creature found in the wilds of New World, which players can gather for Fire Motes and Salamander Slime.
Taking the form of a snail bursting with flames, these rare creatures are found all over Aeternum.
Here's what you'll need and where the best areas are to find Salamander Snails in New World.
What do you need Salamander Snails for in New World?
Fire Motes are used in a whole load of potions, and the cutting of Ruby and Carnelian gemstones. It is also a key resource in crafting the Elemental Heart, a mid-level reagent in ultimately creating Tuning Orbs and Voidbent Ingots. You'll also need it for crafting Fire Staffs and some furniture.
The rare item Salamander Slime is also used in high-level Arcana concoctions.
There's no tool requirements for gathering Salamander Snails, but you'll need Harvesting Skill Lv. 175 to be able to track them.
The best locations to farm Salamander Snails in New World
These are the clusters we think are best for power-farming Salamander Snails.
Reekwater
The best location for a quick in-and-out, you'll want to first fast travel into Time's Advantage in First Light.
Head immediately south towards Bleachwood Coast, with three spawns possible in-between.
Weaver's Fen
There's a whole cluster of possible nodes in northern Weaver's Fen and across the border in Edengrove.
Start at Mallory's Refuge and follow the path west. Turn north at Navarro's Kitchen, sweeping up nodes as you go. Cross into Edengrove, and when you reach a fork, turn back southeast into the Profane Seam.
There's plenty more nodes before you reach the end of the route at Rotted Spring Camp.
Ebonscale Reach
One of the best self-contained spots to farm Salamander Snails, western Ebonscale Reach should net you plenty.
They're primarily found on the island housing the Imperial Palace, and facing coastline.
Great Cleave / Shattered Mountain
A long and winding route through the toughest terrain, if you fancy an adventure you can score plenty of Salamander Sails.
Your starting position will be the Eastburn Outpost in Great Cleave, following a route northwest. Given all the valleys, your best bet is to just follow the paths.
