Blightmoths are a special type of harvestable creature found in the wilds of New World, which players can gather for Death Motes and Blightmoth Dust.
Taking the form of a dark, ominous moth, these rare creatures are best found in the following four clusters.
Here's what you'll need and where the best areas are to find Blightmoths in New World.
What do you need Blightmoths for in New World?
Death Motes are used in a whole load of concoctions, including coatings, potions, tinctures, and the cutting of Sapphire and Moonstone gemstones. It is also a key resource in crafting the Eternal Heart, a mid-level reagent in ultimately creating Amrine Tuning Orbs, Genesis Cores, and Energy Cores.
The rare item Blightmoth Dust is also used in high-level Arcana concoctions.
There's no tool requirements for gathering Blightmoths, but you'll need Harvesting Skill Lv. 175 to be able to track them.
The best locations to farm Blightmoths in New World
These are the clusters we think are best for power-farming Blightmoths.
Reekwater
There's a nice little cluster of Blightmoth surrounding Forecastle Drift in Reekwater.
Head southwest from the Siren's Run shrine to find it. Should you want another little cluster, head north from the shrine to Shipflight Comb.
Edengrove
Another tight cluster can be found in the Edengrove territory. Look among the islets between Arum and Bladderwort, just to the south of the Gatherer's Road shrine.
Ebonscale Reach
Blightmoth are plentiful around the Skysong Crypt in Ebonscale Reach.
Head north from the Traveler's Precipice shrine, around the Skysong Lagoon, to reach it.
Everfall
A rare self-contained cluster in a lower-level region, head southeast along the road from the Shadowmine Shrine in Everfall to Meadow Lake Fishery.
Do a lap around the pond to scoop up all the nodes.
