If you've spent the considerable amount of time needed to max out your Armoring trade skill in New World, then you surely have one eye on the Voidbent Armor set.

The individual pieces of this set offer some of the best stats in the endgame, but getting your hands on them isn't exactly a straightforward task.

What you will need plenty of is Voidbent Ingots, which are described as a metal that has 'been warped in an unnatural way'. These ingots require Void Ore, amongst other ingredients.

We've put together a guide to getting hold of this incredibly rare resource.

Void Ore: Increase your Mining Luck, then search for Orichalcum Veins

The only way you can get hold of Void Ore is to farm Orichalcum veins. However, it's not just a case of rocking up to a vein, going at it with your Mining Pickaxe, and sailing into the sunset with your bounty.

Nope, you're going to need an incredible about of Luck just to have a chance at Void Ore dropping when you mine Orichalcum veins. In fact, you're going to need a minimum of 1,800 Mining Luck, given it's a Tier 5 resource.

For reference, 1,000 Luck translates to a 1% chance of that rare Void Ore dropping. As such, the more Luck points you have, the greater your drop rates.

There are several ways to increase Luck:

  • Consume Mining buff foods
  • Via Perks added to your pickaxe and other gear
  • Display relevant Trophies in your house

Increase Mining Luck via Food Buffs

The following meals increase your Mining Luck. You can craft them in the Kitchen.

While there are several foods that do this, you really want to focus on the best ones available. After all, you have a minimum threshold you need to reach for Void Ore to drop.

  • Baking a Starmetal Miner's Charm into a crafted pickaxe
  • Baking a Chunk of Cobalt into a crafted amulet

Getting hold of these can be a lottery, given they are Luck-based drops.

The best Orichalcum Vein and Void Ore farming locations

Now that you've maxed out your Mining Luck as best you can, it's time to go hunting for Orichalcum veins - this is the type of vein that Void Ore is a rare drop from.

If you've applied the best buffs you can, you should have a Luck rating that surpasses 50% or comes close, meaning you've got a good chance of landing Void Ore.

Check out the guide below for the best Orichalcum farming regions.

As with all endgame resources, the process is going to be tedious, and you'll need to do a lot of farming. However, you should be set up for your Void Ore farming to be quicker than normal thanks to this guide.
