You inventory can quickly become a mess in Final Fantasy XIV and you won't get any more inventory slots in your main bag that you have from the start. So who can one make some space and manage their inventory to keep it clean? The answer is quite simple: adding more inventories. There are a few ways to get more inventories in FFXIV:

  • Your chocobo saddlebag
  • Your retainers
  • Your Free Company guild chest

In today's guide we'll check how to easily add 70 inventory slots using your chocobo in just a few steps.

How to unlock your chocobo Saddlebag in FFXIV

To unlock your chocobo's Saddlebag you will first need to unlock your chocobo, this is down through the story's side quests and if you missed it, here is our complete guide on how to get yours.

Once that chocobo's yours you will be able to take on the next quest in the chocobo series and unlock your chocobo really quickly, to do so head to the South Shroud and talk to Docette located at X: 17.1 Y: 28.

The quest is called "My Feisty Little Chocobo" and you will need to be level 30 at minimum to accept it. It's a very simple quest where you will get to fetch food for your mount before fighting a few mobs with it. Once that's done you will now have access to your chocobo saddlebag by pressing the Ctrl+Shift+I combo by default.

Players that have a premium plan with the Companion App will not get 70 but 140 inventory slots with their chocobo.

While you're working on your chocobo you might as well want to change the color of its feathers. If you want to do so, please feel free to check our dedicated guide here.
