Borderlands 3 is finally here, which means that the loot hunt has now begun for many players. Many of you are probably already familiar with at least Borderlands 2, but the following guide is more for beginners or at least for those who want to prepare their first trip to Pandora as well as possible. This way, you will find a list of little tips to help you enjoy your game to the fullest.

Note: This guide may be updated with new tips as we progress through the game.

Shift codes and gold keys

In addition to the VIP rewards system, Gearbox also has Shift Codes giving access to gold keys. These will be used to open the trunk placed at Sanctuary 3. This container will necessarily deliver powerful equipment related to your level, so it is strongly recommended to enter these codes directly from the game. To know how to do and discover the list of codes, refer to the article below:

Builds: which character class to choose?

Each hunter in the Ark has his own skill trees and active abilities. To know which class suits you best, you will have to analyze all this. However, if you are a single player, we recommend Fl4k the hunter. Thanks to its pets, the robot can get out of a lot of dangerous situations. If you would like more information on each class and some examples of builds, the guides below are made for you (a system of respect for competence points is also present):

Learn about the Borderlands universe

It is indeed recommended to do a little homework if you want to understand all the ins and outs of the scenario. As the episodes progressed, the Borderlands galaxy expanded, bringing new characters, but also quite a few reversals. If it is indeed a gigantic release, you will quickly understand that Borderlands 3 is quite talkative: if you are interested in everything that is being said, many summaries of the show's overall scenario are available on the web.

Expand your inventory and stocks

If you are an action person, you may not have thought to properly search the Sanctuary 3 ship. The latter provides very useful services, including a storage box and the purchase of additional storage space. To buy these precious extensions, take a look around Marcus' shop, the one for inventory is placed in the middle of the last line.

Level scaling

Despite the difference in level that can occur between two players, Borderlands 3 averages and tries to make enemies interesting to kill for all members of a group. The same applies to the loot you receive in the various containers you will find on your route. However, not all equipment is good to take and it is quite possible to find class mods that are not made for you: unless you want to reroll, don't hesitate to exchange regularly some items with your colleagues.

Critical Hits and weaknesses

This mechanism has been there since the very first Borderlands and is even more important in this third canonical opus. Some units have a lot of life points, which will force you to determine what their weaknesses are. With each impact of your weapon on a sensitive area your damage is considered critical. A priori, all enemies, including bosses, have weak points in B3, try to make their search one of your priorities in combat.

Thinking outside the box

The areas of the Pandora planets are tortuous and while some portions are reserved for secondary quests, we strongly recommend that you go on an adventure whenever you have the opportunity: you could make some great discoveries while browsing the Borderlands 3 planetary system, and sometimes you'll even have to come back after unlocking some skills throughout history, such as breaking those damn eridium blocks that will make you very envious for a few dozen hours.
