It has been a few days since the highly anticipated PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2, was officially confirmed by Rockstar. The next question obviously concerns the performance expected from your machine to run it correctly. The page dedicated to the game on Rockstar Games Launcher has just answered it:
Red Dead Redemption 2 PC minimum specs
OS: Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K / AMD FX-6300
Memory: 8GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
HDD Space: 150GB
Sound Card: DirectX compatible
Red Dead Redemption 2 PC recommended specs
OS: Windows 10 - April 2018 Update (v1803)
Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
Memory: 12GB
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
HDD Space: 150GB

It is therefore advisable to have a mid-range gamer PC, which is quite reasonable. The only special thing is the disk space required, which is 150GB, which is huge, but not surprising nowadays. The game already weighed more than 100 GB on consoles, if you add the patches and improved textures, it goes up quickly. Even heavier games are already starting to appear (like the next CoD). It is to be hoped that the pre-download will be available long enough in advance so as not to block players with only a modest connection.
As a reminder, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on November 5th on PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher, and a little later on Steam.
