Generators are one of the basic structures available in Death Stranding thanks to the level 1 PCC construction kit. The installation of one of these buildings will require 350 bandwidth units from the chiral network.
Function
It's very simple, anything that uses a battery can be recharged with generators, as long as you stay within its range. Easy and inexpensive to build, these are " gas stations " for your equipment or vehicles.
Improvement
Like all structures built with a PCC kit, generators can be improved. Below, you can find the materials needed for the two levels available and the benefits they provide to all Porters in your session:
- Upgrade to level 2: 400 metals. The generator recharges your batteries much faster, the range is increased and you have access to the customization section.
- Upgrade to level 3: 100 chiral crystals and 400 metals. The generator will become much more resistant to rainfall.
Optimize the installation
First, placing a generator near a road network or near an outpost is not very useful: all the official Bridges structures allow Sam Porter to use his equipment without using a battery, so a charging station at these locations would be completely counterproductive. If you want to collect as many likes as possible with your structure, focus on areas that are next to rivers, as they wear out the batteries much more quickly.
Identifying mandatory crossing points to access certain delivery points can also be very useful: steep passages or canyons halfway between two large delivery points are all perimeters that can help your building be successful. Remember, for a structure to be visible to players, it's essential that it's situated in an area that's connected to the chiral network.
